FRIPON is organized as follows:
A core team (19 members) , responsible for the organization and development of the network and the establishment of research missions for meteorites
35 regional referents , responsible for the coordination of the 22 regional centers , each with 2 to 9 cameras.
75 local referents , responsible for the maintenance and management of cameras
The core team
The project is supported by 13 researchers and students (4 researchers and 2 students from Observatoire de Paris , 2 researchers at MNHN , 1 researcher at the University Paris -Sud and researchers from Institut Pytheas (Université Aix-Marseille) and an 5 technical staff (4 at InstitutPythéas and 1 at Université Paris Sud) . Each laboratory has a major task to manage .
IMCCE / Observatoire de Paris is responsible for the installation of the optical and radio network and the overall management of the program FRIPON (F. Colas, J.L. rault ) . It is also responsible of the reduction pipeline in order to compute, trajectories and orbits of the firereballs and in case of the strewn field of meteorites (J. Vaubaillon, F. Colas, S. jeanne, M. Birlan, A. Egal, L. Maquet ) .
GEOPS / Université Paris-Sud will handle the implementation of the human network and the installation of cameras IMCCE (S. Bouley ) .
The data acquired during the program will also be centralized at OSUPS (Observatoire des Sciences of the Universe at the University Paris -Sud) . The project manager
The IMPMC / MNHN is responsible for the field research as well as the classification and study of mineralogical samples. B. Zanda is helped by M. Rotaru ans A. Steinhausse is also the carrier of the program of participative science "Vigie Ciel" which will aim to offer the general public to participate in the adventure FRIPON .
The CEREGE (J. Gattacceca ) and LAM (P. Vernazza ) have respective missions for the preliminary analysis of meteorites and the determination of their source regions . P. Vernazza is leading a team developing the spectroscopy survey with the help of F.Colas, M. Birlan and J. Vaubaillon. The OSU Pythéas, which GEREGE and LAM are part of, is responsible for the technical management of the network via its IT team (Cyrille Blanpain, Julien Lecubin, Adrien Malgoyre).
The regional leaders
Our project is ambitious , both for its geographical scope ( 100 cameras in France ) and its duration ( 10 years ), it requires significant human network . Thus, the program FRIPON ise builded in each region with one or more scientific leaders ( typically a researcher in planetary science and / or astronomy ) which manage the three to nine observatories in the region. In addition, each regional manager form a research team on the ground so that researchers to be immediately operational during a meteorite fall .

The role and commitments of local referent
The local pole is a cornerstone of network FRIPON. For each pole is designated a local referent, his role is :
Ensure maintenance of automatic camera installed on the local cluster ( cleaning the upper window of the camera, restart the computer... )
Assist in the coordination to research meteorite in the region of fall ( statistically every 4-5 years / region). Maintaining mobilized the local team.
To participate in the program of participatory science , including the Vigie Ciel site in case of an event in the region.
